Change in Developers – Recover email/password

Hello – wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. We had someone developing our site that moved away and is not returning our calls. We need to make changes to the website but cannot log in since the site is registered under the name of the developer. Any attempts to recover the password go to his email address and since he’s not returning our calls, we’ll stuck. I tried to find a support contact or webmaster contact but we’re pointed to the forums. I haven’t seen any information on this topic so if anyone can help or point me in the direction of the correct person to update the access to wordpress site, I would greatly appreciate the help.
