Support » Fixing WordPress » Change images location – bug

  • Hi. I want to insert my website images to eBay listings and other places, but I don’t want the links to look
    mydomain.com/wp-content/uploads/image.jpg
    but rather
    mydomain.com/img/image.jpg
So I went to settings > media and changed path to /public_html/img/.
Img folder has been created automatically. Then I uploaded a few images to this folder over FTP. A while later a few resolution variations have been automatically created as expected.
So I went to media > library and saw that new images appear as broken thumbnail. The file names are correct but the path is still /wp-content/uploads where they don’t exist.
I tried to change path a few times with the same result every time.
Weirdly, after a few changes, the option to change path on settings > media page now disappeared.
Is this a bug or there is a better method to achieve this?
