Hi, no this works for me in TasteWP.com with the most recent version of WordPress. Maybe a caching problem on your end? The setting is template independent.

Thanks, I cleared cache and checked it again, but it does not change it unfortunately.
I also noticed, that the headline does not disappear when I select “remove heading”. Is there any way I can try to find out what prevents it from applying the changes? Maybe its theme related? I disabled all other plugins and checked the pages again, but that did not make a difference either, so no other plugin should interfere.

I get it. You try to use the hidden TOC option with the paragraph option. That is not possible and should not be selectable in the backend. I need to look into this for the next version. Either I allow paragraphs in the hidden mode or I disable the p tag in the backend in this mode.
oh okay I see. But how else can I integrate the TOC? I just did as explained in the description:
“In Gutenberg, add a block and search for “SimpleTOC” or just “TOC”. Please save your content before you use the block.”
Thank you
The default integration of SImpleTOC is unhidden like a unsorted list. When I create a new TasteWP Instance and just add the plugin without any configuration, it starts as an unordered list. This is the default.
Like this: https://ps.w.org/simpletoc/assets/screenshot-1.png?rev=2800557
okay thank you.
Can you tell me which file I would need to edit to change the H2 in a paragraph? I assume this would also solve my issue
since this is react code there is no „template“ you can edit. You can try to hack something in the plugin.php file but I would bot do that if I were you
