    I would like to try this patchwork theme but would like to replace the quilt image at top and bottom with my own image.
    I think that is easily done by copying my image over the existing ones.
    The one thing I cant get my head around is the header box with title text in middle of top quilt background image?

    Can someone please help with this. This is my first time using wordpress and I think I somewhat understand it but that box with title text has be baffled.

    Thank you for your time and help.

    If you post your site link then I am sure somebody will help you with the header box.

    Good luck.

    Heres a link: http://tinyurl.com/9buarhd

    its still not live as its just a testing server til the work is completed. I am wanting to change the background patch image with my own large image to fit across the top. But I plan on having the site name within the image, so theres no need for that overlaying box with type.

    I would like to remove the overlaying box with type. Any help with this? Would also like to set the height to a specific height as the new image.

    Thanks for your help with this.

    Are you using a Child Theme or do you have a custom CSS option or plug-in? You need to do that before you make any changes -- so that your changes won't be over-written when the theme is updated.

    One you have that setup, add this to your style.css file:

    #masthead hgroup {
        display: none;

    You can set the height and insert your image in this CSS:

    .style-maude #masthead {
        background-image: url("images/patchwork.jpg");
        border-bottom: 10px solid #46433A;
        height: XXXpx;

    I added above code to styles.css and the height is not working for some strange reason. Im using the sunny, not maude.

    The site says you are using maude -- try using the code above and see what happens.
