  • Hello!

    I’m very new to WordPress and I am trying to make the background color of the header (behind logo and menu) black. Iv’e tried to add several codes into “Additional CSS”
    And looking into the “Theme Editor > style.css” with some confusion.

    The theme I am using it called: Tracian.

    Any help is appreciated.

    It is not a best practice to edit your original theme directly, but rather you can create a child theme to add your customization.

    Usually on your style.css file you can locate your header and logo ID or class by searching for header ID search#site-header for logo class search .site-logo or .logo depending on the way theme developers named the logo class.

    If you don’t like to create a child theme you can go to your Dashboard > Appearance > Customizer > Additional CSS

    Then add this code:

    #site-header {	
    	background: #000;// this is to change your header color
    }

    If you want to change your logo background color so it can be different from the header color

    .logo {
        background: black; //This is to change your logo background color }

    or

    .site-logo {
        background: black; //This is to change your logo background color.
    }
