Change Font Size of Menu and Post Titles under Categories

    Hi! I am very new to wordpress/any kind of website building – a serious beginner. I am using wpfolio with a child theme; but there are no changes to the style.css right now. I would like to increase the font size of the main menu. I tried using this code in the style.css of the child theme. It worked for a while, then I updated to 3.9 WordPress. It is now too big, and I removed the code below, and it’s still too big.
    The code looked like this:

    .sf-menu {
	font-size: 1.5em;
}

    I would also like to increase the font size of the post titles under the categories. I haven’t tried any coding for this.
