[Resolved] Change font link color

  • How do you change the colour of links?

    I am using a child theme and have changed the style.css

    a {
    color: #0DB0D8; !important;
    text-decoration: none

    }

    but the changes don’t show up.

    Cheers

    Open your website in Google Chrome.
    Right click on the link you want changed.
    Select the ‘Inspect element’ option.
    In the new toolbar that pops up, look to the right.
    You need to use those selectors.

    See CSS specificity

    Thanks for your help. I was just reading the specificity page when your reply came through.

    I think the problem is a specificity issue- the selectors displayed in Inspect element are:

    a {
    color: #F30;
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    And the parent’s style.css is
    a {
    color: #F30;
    */ text-decoration:none; */
    }

    Is the comment syntax incorrect? And doesn’t the child’s style.css override the parent’s?

    All works now. thanks
