How to Change DEFAULT Page AFTER login

  • steverf

    @steverf

    How do we change what page is opend after a user logs in ?
    I do not want my users to go directly to the Dashboard.
    I much rather have them go directly to the index page or main blog page, whatever is the proper name… They are interested in seeing what is posted on the index page and not the DASHBOARD…
    How can I change this…
    Many Thanks

    Yes, it was and was for another site….
    I am working with another site now and with ver 2.6.1
    I am not interested in a Plugin solution…
    I feel that a user should be able to login and go DIRECTLY to the “View Page” view of the WP system without having to be forced into the Dashboard…. New users are confused with the dashboard and are looking for a simple, clean login….
    I have now seen yet another post for the very dsame issue…. In troubleshooting…should be on top at the time of this writing.
