Support » Plugin: PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry » Change feed URL without redirect

  • Greetings,

I would like to change the way my podcast feed works by switching from a category based aggregating page to another page using the slug /podcast. The issue seems to be the feed URL is already /feed/podcast. Can I change the feed to /feed/podcasts without too many issues? Will that break the feed to iTunes and other services? Could I just resubmit with the new feed URL, or would that be like creating a brand new listing and lose reviews, etc.?

    Thank you for any help

  • quick followup, would the above scenario break a feedburner feed? That feed appears to only contain the category, not the /feed/podcast url.

    Thanks again!

Feed URLs generated by PowerPress aren’t editable. Feeds are automatically generated based on how you’ve set them up (default, feed, category feed, etc.). If your podcast is using a category-based feed, and you’re using that feed publicly with syndication points like Apple Podcasts, etc., and you want to start using a different feed URL, you’d have to redirect it in order to carry over current subscribers.

If you’re syndicating via FeedBurner, then you’d just need to change the URL of the source feed in FeedBurner settings and click the Resync button.

I need help with my podcast feed. I created a podcast page and would like a listing of all my podcasts on this page. I need help setting up the feeds.

    Hello @drjoy,

CAn you be specific what you are trying to accomplish? out of the box the blog landing page lists 10 posts / episodes per page with pagination. When you use the word “podcast” do you mean “shows”, as in multiple programs, each with their own series of episodes, or do you mean “podcasts” as in episodes to a single show/program?
