  • The stock featured box icons are really nice and do a cool colour fade in fade out when a mouse hovers over it.

How do I change the stock icons with my own icons so that it does the same effect? I seem to be able to replace the icon, but it looks really bad and it doesn’t allow me to do that effect.

  • I have the same problem!
    Please help…

The effect dosnt work because we’re replacing the original with an image, the icons already in place is part of a Font package – I might be wrong tho, but atleast that’s how it looks to me.

I am however curious how to with code in the image path could set the icon to the default, thus allowing me to use the link feature(which isnt available unless you set an image).

    Hope someone can help

Hmm okay, how do you change the font or find out which font images are available then?

I’ll have to second that question.

I only just noticed the icons were a part of the fonts in the fonts folder of the theme.
U can try n have a look for urself.

As for how we use the characters of the font instead of that images the invert options suggest i have no clue about

You are correct that the Featured Box section uses icons from a font group, it’s called Font Awesome.

This is a link to a Cheat Sheet with all the names.

You get the name of the icon you want to use (fa-pencil) and put it in the appropriate box in the Invert options for Featured Box section, and that’s it.

I imagine you could create a new Class using a different font, but I haven’t gotten that far, yet.

    Hope that helps.

I am trying to get the feature box link working and I understand we need to have an image in the feature box image field. I would like to use the font awesome icons – the ones that do a color change on rollover, but I don’t know how to add them. For instance, I enter fa-desktop into the feature box image field and nothing happens – the icon won’t appear AND the link won’t work. Now, I do realize that I can change the icons in the front-mid-box.php file by entering the icon I want – example: fa-desktop. While this does get the proper icon to display, the feature box link field will not work without an image coded into it.

If someone can help out, I would appreciate it!
