Instructions from that article:
If there is already an old favicon.ico file in your current theme’s main folder, delete it.
With an FTP Client, upload the new favicon.ico file into your current theme’s main folder.
Upload another copy of your favicon.ico file to the main directory of your site (i.e. http://example.com/favicon.ico). This will display the favicon in your subscribers’ feedreaders.

With the Favicon Rotator plugin it’s easy as pie though …
The point is that posting links to your site (or your videos) in outdated threads that are already marked resolved is spamming the forums.
If you want to help out here, that’s great and always appreciated, but don’t use these forums to promote your site/links in any way or they will get moderated.

I followed the link provided for creating a favicon…but it didn’t work. I’m using twenty twelve and didn’t find the code to replace so I copied the code after <head>. Nothing changed.
