 * Ok, i’ve done the 5 steps to change my blog from [http://example.com/wordpress/](http://example.com/wordpress/)
to [http://example.com/.](http://example.com/.) However when i go to the admin
i get an error page?? Do have to go through all the admin pages and change paths??
I’m very much a noob so feel free to “dumb it down” for me 😉

 * Did you follow the steps to the “t”? Did you change the options in the general
   section accordingly?

 * The only thing i’m not sure about is step “4. Open up wp-config-sample.php and
fill in your database details. Save and rename the file to wp-config.php.” I
didn’t know what else to change there. My hosting provider did the set up so
i didn’t know what else to change on that??? It was working before I did the
directory change so i know he did everything right.

 * I think i just realized what i did wrong. Man do i feel stupid. I set both the
blog AND the WP address to the root. Stoopid stoopid stoopid. Is there a way
to fix this? obviously i can’t get into the admin interface to set it back…

 * Aha! After wrestling with my inherent dim-wittedness i came up with a solution.
I copied all contents of the main WP directory to the root directory (temporarily).
This allowed me to log in and fix my blunder. I then deleted everything i had
copied over except for the index file. Now everything seems to be working swimingly!
