Change color scheme and font sizes

Hi Scott,
Love the simplicity of this theme, but I want to be able to change the colors and font sizes more than is allowed through the customize feature. I want to make the navigation bar colored, and drop down menu a different color. I want menu font to change color when you roll over. I am not a developer by any stretch. I understand, that if I make the changes on the main CSS it will get overwritten. Is it possible to hire you to make a child theme css (don’t even know if that is what it is called). I have a list of what I need done. Thanks.
