Support » Theme: Hitchcock » change color of menue text

    Hi and many thanks for that beautyful theme, Anders.

    I’d like to change the text color of the main navigation, such as “Home”, “About Hitchkock” etc.
    Also the color when hovering over them.
    Is there a solution for adding code in aditional CSS?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi @laffer81,

    Glad you like it! Go to Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS (the menu labels might be different in your language) and add the code below:

    .main-menu > li > a { color: #FF0000; }

    .main-menu > li:hover > a,
    .main-menu > li.current-menu-item > a { color: #0000FF; }

    The first line sets the base color of the links, and the second and third lines sets the color used on hover and when the menu item is active (the page is viewed). Change the HEX values to the values of the colors you want.

    Hi Anders,

    many thanks for your quick response. I just added exactly your code into Additional CSS for checking.
    But unfortunately the colors didn’t change, please see http://plankermann.spott-online.de/
    What could be the reason for that?

    Hi @laffer81,

    Looking at the CSS code output to the page, the > characters have been decoded to their HTML codes (& gt;). Your computer probably did something funky with it when you copied the text. Remove the > characters from Additional CSS, and add them back in the same places with the > key on your keyboard instead.

    Many thanks, Anders! That resolved my problem.
