    Add this to your theme’s stylesheet:

    div.wpcf7-mail-sent-ok {
    	border: 2px solid #00ff00;
    }

    I don’t get what you mean. Every WordPress theme must have at least a style.css file.

    I added it to the end of the style.css file and changed #00ff00 to the color i wanted but nothing happens. Does it need to be added to a specific part of the style.css file? thanks so much for your help!

    Styles in the plugin overwrite yours. You have two options:
    1) Add !important to the css rule
    2) Disable completely CF7 styles adding define(‘WPCF7_LOAD_CSS’, false); in your wp-config.php file and style the form yourself.

    Lo haces bien. Lo que ocurre es que los estilos del plugin machacan los tuyos. Tienes dos opciones:
    1) Añadir un !important a la regla
    2) Deshabilitar por completo los estilos de CF7 añadiendo define(‘WPCF7_LOAD_CSS’, false); a tu fichero wp-config.php (en la raíz de la instalación)
