Hi @trisham
Thank you for writing to us.
Unfortunately, as of now, changing the base URL to edit or remove the “/downloads/” part is not possible.
However, we may add an option in a future release to change the base URL easily.
Regards
Thank you for the quick reply! I’m sad that there isn’t a method at this time, we have many assets that have been indexed and well-ranked for years, I don’t want to have to do (so many) redirects to a new URL.
But it’s a very nice plugin, so I’ll come back around to it after whatever future release allows me to change the base URL, in the meantime I’ll keep looking for a different plugin and just keep my fingers crossed that I can come back to yours soon!
Hi,
WordPress Download Manager Pro version already offers this feature:
https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/

Thank you Shafeet, I have decided to upgrade your plugin to the premium version, but the only instruction I can find on your website about how to upgrade from free to premium version says to “deactivate and delete” the old version first”……but won’t that remove all the downloads I have already imported from my old plugin (download monitor) into the free version of Download Manager?
We have hundreds of downloadable assets accumulated over the years (with the old plugin) that were imported into your plugin, it would take me months to do the work of rebuilding our asset library if they get deleted.
I would deeply appreciate a very quick reply if possible, I had intended to do this upgrade today, but in going through your documentation it doesn’t sound like a simple process.
No worry, your old data still will be there. Deleting plugin will not remove your data.
Thank you Shafaet, I appreciate the quick response and the info, I’m off to do the upgrade, if I have issues I’ll post in your Pro forum. 🙂
Hi @trisham
You are welcome and glad to hear that.
However, If you get some free moments, please give us a 5* here and add your valuable review about our plugin.
