My site has been on hiatus for a year, and now I am bringing it back. But I want to change its design/theme. The site used to have an overall dark gray background, but now I want most of the background to be white.
Because it used to be dark gray, I often utilized different (light) colors to highlight certain text in each post. These colors will no longer be nicely visible on a white background.
I would like to have the older posts retain its dark gray background so they’re still readable (which can also signify “archives”), but I want all the new posts from here on to have a default white background.
Is there any way this can be coded? I know I can set the default background to dark gray and just override to white on all new posts with a plugin, but I would rather not do it that way. Is there any way I can code so background colors for the post are set according to the date (any date that is 2011 and before, for example)?
Or is there any other way to do it without the use of a plugin?
(Otherwise, I think I would have to through all the older pages individually and remove the CSS code for all the lightly-colored text, which I think would just be a major pain.)
Thanks in advance.
