I have 10,000+ images all of which were painstakingly renamed manually to what I wanted them to appear as alt text / title wise with dashes instead of spaces in their filenames. So nextgen takes the filename removes the extension and uses that as the alt / title tags. I just need it to also remove the dashes “-” and replace with space and i’m golden.

Anyone have an idea how to do this?

@remotay – Although an interesting idea there is no method to do this within NextGEN Gallery. You would likely need to do some custom modifications to the code so that it would manipulate the text you want to display.

This is also something outside our scope of support at this time.

    Thanks!

Marked as resolved as per your response. If you could point me at the php file that needs to be edited, it would be of much help. I remember making this change in a legacy version and it was in the view/gallery.php file, but the structure has gotten much more complex over the years.

@remotay – The NextGEN Legacy templates can be found under:

    ../wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ngglegacy/view

Create a copy of the one that is closest to your needs and save it in the same folder (keep a backup of it as well).

    Thanks!
