Hi tumptyteapot,
thanks for reaching out.
I see that you are using Google Auto ads on your site. This would explain why an ad is displayed below the main navigation. Google AdSense puts it there automatically.
Unfortunately, the position of Auto ads can’t be influenced. You can only choose to use them and accept the positions AdSense chooses or disable Auto ads and place ads only manually.
I also noticed a manually placed ad unit in your code that is not displaying anything. First, it is in the header, where it doesn’t belong and second, the size is set to 0x0. I thought I let you know.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Thomas
Thank you, I have no idea what that other ad is!
If I got the pro version would I have more control?
There is no way to control the position Auto ads if you have that code on your site. Advanced Ads Pro would not help there and no other script could do this either.
Advanced Ads Pro has more placements, if you want to fully manage your ad positions according to the tutorial I linked above. But you can also just start with the free version of Advanced Ads. Is this what you are looking for?
Thanks,
Thomas
Thank you, if I took off auto ads would I have to manually place each ad in each post? Sorry, I have tried to work this out for myself but it is just not clear to me
Yes, if you disable Auto ads then the automatically placed ads would be gone.
You would need to create the ad units in your AdSense account and then manage them and their position in Advanced Ads. Advanced Ads can place ads automatically into the content of your posts and in your sidebar on every page. You only need to define each position once.
Please let me know if you need anything else.

aha, gotcha! that is really helpful, thank you so much
You are welcome, and good luck.
If you have a minute, I would kindly ask you to review Advanced Ads and our support here.
Thanks,
Thomas
