CGI and PHP error messages

  • Periodically I’m getting the following error on my WordPress site:

    CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

A refresh of the page runs slow and sometimes I then get

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated….

Then another refresh or two and it eventually loads. This can mean that sometimes the site is down for a few minutes.

Does anyone know why this may be, what the root cause is?
