cfdb-count doesn't work

Hi,
The cfdb-count shortcode works when tested in the plugin dashboard.
However, when I insert it in a CF7 message (be it a webpage notification to state that the form was successfully submitted, or in the subsequent email sent to whoever submitted the form), the shortcode itself is displayed, not the corresponding data…
Any advice?
