CF7 stopped working on all forms

    I have just noticed that none of the 3 CF7 forms on this site are working at all – the form doesn’t submit.

    In the console I see:

    /wp-json/contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/406/feedback:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()

    The forms were all working for sure until 31 Oct (I can see messages in Flamingo) but I don’t know exactly when they stopped. Plugins have been updated in that time but I can’t say exactly when or which.

    I also tried removing ReCaptcha 3 in case that was it – but still not working.

    What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

    I have tested disabling all plugins – not that. I changed the Theme to Nineteen and the form worked fine so there’s a clash with the Theme somewhere. I set up a form using Elementor on the same site and that worked no problem so it’s something specific to our recent updates to the theme and CF7.

    I’ve got two other people looking at this now because I want to get the bottom of it quickly.

    I’ll post when I get an answer – I saw very similar issues discussed but a variety of answers that didn’t help me.

    I am also awaiting a solution or rollback on this plugin, since updating the WordPress 5.3 and plugin And revalidating all sites NONE of the forms will send error every time. PLEASE ADVISE!

    Hi all, as suspected, the problem for us was with the theme and a very bespoke jQuery script running which was blocking the CF7 script.

    Won’t be the answer some were looking for but there it is 🙂

    @takayukister Is there any progress on this? As it’s effecting thousands of websites. We’re using WordPress Bridge and Phlox themes.

    This particular thread has progressed to the end of the line – the issue was with our Theme, not CF7.
