As others have said, this is a great plugin for the most part. Thanks for developing and supporting it. I’m creating a site using WP 5.2.2 and PHP 7.3 which uses Contact Form 7. I get nothing but a blank input using geoip_detect2_text_input for either city, country, or postal code. If I supply a default value, that is always displayed. The geoip_detect2_countries and geoip_detect2_user_info shortcodes work perfectly, so the issue is not with the detection. I’m using Maxmind GeoIP Lite City as the data source. This is currently being run only on a local Vagrant box so no easy way to share a link, but I am happy to provide any additional info that will help. I tried the AJAX method just to see if it would solve the problem, but it does not.

  • I specified a field name and it started working.

That’s strange – while I couldn’t test it with PHP 7.3 yet, I don’t think the name property makes a difference because a default name is chosen when no name is given (and on my system, adding a shortcode without name works) Did you change something else as well?

No, just that. I have a few CF7-extending plugins in use, so I also had previously tried disabling them to see if that made a difference, and it did not. I did not try disabling ALL other plugins, however. Maybe there was a conflict with Polylang or some other plugin that is not specifically CF7-related. While I don’t see why it would make a difference, I am using Bedrock and Trellis (but not Sage) from the roots.io ecosystem. I wish I could help more in pinpointing the cause, but once I made the change and it worked, I of course stopped testing.
