I also took the opportunity to update the plugins, including “CF7 Ver 5.1.4” and “WPBakery Visual Composer Version 4.12.1”. My server is running PHP 7.0. * After the update I was getting some weird behavior. I could not enter the editing dialog boxes of Visual Composer. To diagnose the problem, I disabled the plugins one by one, until I found that by disabling CF7 I could edit the pages without any glitch. I am sure that this is the plugin at fault. (I have enabled all the other plugins, and they do not break break Visual Composer.) * CF7 itself seems to be working perfectly when enabled. * I’m wondering if anyone has experienced the same. If there are any solutions. I am experiencing a different issue with this plugin. When I enable it, I get AJAX datable errors when trying to edit pages. They seem to be unrelated. In either case, I can edit the content (the editor comes up correctly), BUT, for some reason, the“ text boxes” do not load the text. This seems to be limited to the “text boxes”, and not the “header” or “buttons” boxes. * I will try to to contact the WPBakery Visual Composer. With this test, it seems that problem might be with WPBakery and not with Contact Form 7, since that is behaving correctly in all the scenarios. * One more time, THANKS YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PLUGIN, and I do not have words to express my appreciation for the the attention! * Thread Starter [fabinho1980](https://wordpress.org/support/users/fabinho1980/) * (@fabinho1980) * [6 years, 6 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cf7-breaking-visual-composer/#post-12055200) * **Confirmed the problem!** * Visual Composer is not compatible with the newer “Gutenberg” block editor in newer versions of WordPress (5.0 and higher ) * To fix it, one can download the “classic editor” plugin in wordpress, and this will make Visual Composer and Contact Form 7 work normally again. * I hope this helps someone somewhere.
