CF7 and reCAPTCHA – Verification expired

    The contact form on the site uses reCAPTCHA.
    It had been working.

    Currently, reCAPTCHA confirms a user as human, but when then submitting the form, a timing circle appears below the form (not in the reCAPTCHA box) and after a long while, the following error message appears in the reCAPTCHA box: Verification expired. Check the checkbox again.

    Reticking the verification box does not help. This has happened every time I have tried this since the error was reported to me.

    On another site, where a similar setup is used, submit/reCAPTCHA works well.

    FAQ > The spinning arrow icon shows up once I submit a form, but then nothing happens.

    Thank you for the link.

    I had already seen the information on that page before posting the enquiry here.

    The propsoed solution isn’t really an option: (1) I use CF7 with reCAPTCHA on other sites with similar plug-ins (2) Going to default theme would totally break the website.

    I have removed the [recaptcha] from the form. The problem remains.

    It seems the problem is not with the reCAPTCHA. The error reported by reCAPTCHA is apparently because it takes too long for the form info to be sent and reCAPTCHA times out.

    So now looking for reason for form info not being sent successfully after submit.

    The problem appears to be related to a 500 error (too many redirects).

    I could send the form info from an older (development) version of the website and will now compare the list and versions of the plugins on the old development site and the current live site.

    Problem was not with plug-ins. Tested by bringing development/test site and live site to same status with regards to plugins. The form still worked on the development/test and not on the live site.

    Solution was to change the Settings WP Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) from http://www.domainname.com to http:domainname.com
