“certificate has expired at pdf-ninja.php”

Hi Folks,

After the recent update my forms have started returning this error: “An error occurred while processing a PDF: Error generating PDF: cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired at pdf-ninja.php:492”

This is not a site that receives many submissions, so I don’t think that’s the issue.

I’ve gotten a key from PDF.ninja for version 2 of the API, but I have no idea where to put it.

UPDATE: I’m also seeing the error when I click ‘PDF Form’ in CF7 itself: “cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired”

Any help is appreciated!

Hi Adam,

Can you please check your server date? It sounds like that might be the problem.

The certificate looks fine:
https://entrust.ssllabs.com/analyze.html?d=pdf.ninja&hideResults=on.

Normally, you don’t need to do anything with your key. It can be viewed or changed on your CF7 Integration page. The same key will work for both, version 1 and 2.

I would recommend talking to your hosting provider regarding this issue. It would be interesting to find out what they say.

This can be probably the issue:

Solutions for server are listed in OpenSSL blog, however, it can be as short as one word – UPDATE (your system)

Also the following client system and software are affected:

Windows XP SP3

Mozilla Firefox below 50.0
Ubuntu xenial / 16.04 (lacked updates)
Debian jessie / 8 (lacked updates)
Java 8 below 8u141

@epymetheus, please ask your hosting provider to update software on your server.
