I have galleries that I have inserted into pages and when I uploaded my images I received no errors and I have no visible broken links. However, when I am viewing my website certain images show up and others say “we can’t find what you are looking for”. If nothing appears to be wrong then why is this happening and how do I fix it?
I am using the snapfish theme if that makes a difference.
And I have tried to contact the theme’s creator and they won’t respond to me. They are answering other questions in the help forum but avoiding mine. Not sure why. I have another issue with trying to disable comments on photos that worked fine on another website with a different theme but not this and I can’t seem to figure it out or find help from that writer.
Also, please be aware that these forums are entirely volunteer and theme developers (and other people helping out here) are providing help for free. If you need faster help, you may need to hire someone to help you – http://jobs.wordpress.net/
Thank you, and yes I know that it is volunteer for free, I just have already posted in the theme forum and the creator is not answering me so that’s why I started to post elsewhere to see if I could get another’s help instead.
These forums really don’t work that way – duplicate threads are closed or deleted per forum policy. Theme-specific threads are generally answered by anyone – not just the theme developer – assuming that someone else has an answer. So I would suggest having a bit more patience or looking for someone to hire.
The image is there (when viewed directly) and is linked to its attachment page that turns 404. I’m not entirely sure the problem could be that its partent (post/page that this images uploaded thru) ‘s status is set to draft or private.
If that post/page is set to published, and you are certain that images are uploaded via that post/page, I would suggest a simple delete and re-upload, it could be that at the time you uploaded some of these images, the rewrite didn’t work right.
