• I’m trying to center a few widgets in my Twenty Eleven sidebar. They just look bad to me left-aligned. Plus, some of the text in the twitter badge widget I installed is being cut off on the left-hand side.

In the last theme I had, I wrapped the BandCamp player widget (a text widget) in a <div align="center"></div> tag and it lined right up in the middle of the sidebar. Now it isn’t. I tried giving it a CSS class and aligning it with my stylesheet, but no dice. (I’m probably just approaching this from the wrong angle.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues.

For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

Yeah, I know. I’m already working with a child theme.

    Thanks.

esmi, users really do not find it helpful when searching for answers to read the same old ‘create a child theme’ response WITHOUT at least giving an answer to the question posted.

If you take the time to reply please be more helpful to this forum. Just remember that the OP is not the ONLY reader so please do not assume that ALL readers do not have a child theme installed.
