Why do I find that the option “Host minified CSS and JS files” in the CDN > General settings is checked but greyed out so that the setting cannot be altered?

Have you enabled CDN from under Performance > General Settings? Also, if you are using Cloudflare, make sure to enable that from Perfomance > Extensions.

Yes, Amazon CloudFront is enabled as the CDN. I’m not using CloudFlare.

This unchangeable setting looks like it’s mandatory to host minified CSS and JS files whilst using a CDN. But what if I didn’t want to? What if I only want to host images with the CDN, for example?

It may be worth adding that, although this setting is on (and impossible to switch off, as I describe above), minified CSS and JS files are nevertheless not getting hosted with the CloudFront CDN.

    Hello @sadhaka,

Its grayed out when minify module disabled. So if you do not have minify enabled, That option has no use.
Can you confirm if the minify is disabled on your end?

    You’re right – my bad – I didn’t realise I had that disabled. Thanks.

I’m seeing the same thing. On the CDN tab Host minified CSS and JS files is checked, but the check box is disabled.

I do have minify enabled on the main settings page as set to automatic. Also have CSS and JS checked to minify on the minify tab. I don’t have minify checked for HTML, although I did check it just to test and see if all 3 had to be on for the option to not use the CDN for minified files.
