Support » Plugin: WP-Optimize - Clean, Compress, Cache. » Caution! this plugin delete my images and my menu

  • I used this plugin for years but the lastest version totally ruined my website. This plugin made me lose all my images, and also the menu (default settings). Be very careful if you still want to use this.

Sorry to hear that! The only scenario under which loss of your menu could occur is if your MySQL server has significant database corruption, in which case issuing an “OPTIMIZE” command (telling it to optimize its tables) can trigger data-loss. For that reason, WP-O asks you to take a database backup before optimizing. Unfortunately, it’s not currently possible to detect MySQL corruption and prevent that, so, a backup is the only solution. (Restoring a backup is also a good way to get rid of MySQL table corruption, since its effect is to wipe the table and restore a fresh copy). (That’s not something that’s changed at all in WP-O’s history, BTW – an “OPTIMIZE” SQL command to MySQL is just a single command; after that, MySQL handles it all). Similarly for images (WP-O free has no image handling features).
