Support » Plugin: Password Protected » Causing major conflict with Contact Form 7

    Hi Ben,

The plugin has served me well for several months, but recently (within the last 2 months) it started playing funny with the contact forms on my websites. I use Contact Form 7. After extensive testing, in which I deactivated all plugins and reactivated each one, one-by-one, to isolate the culprit, I discovered that “Password Protected” was causing a conflict with CF7 that was preventing my forms from successfully submitting. This affected both my Multisite Network and my individual WP sites. Unfortunately, this only came to my attention around two weeks after my last form submission, so I definitely missed a lot of leads. I wanted to bring this to your attention so that you can look into this at your earliest opportunity and resolve the issue. I’d hate for this to become a widespread issue that causes you a lot of headaches.

    Thank you!

Same – the contact forms on a site I manage are hanging on submit. Disabling all plugins and re-enabling one by one allowed me to pinpoint the Password Protected plugin as the culprit.

Same problem here. I get “rest_cannot_access” (http status 401) when trying to submit a form on contact form 7. While Password Protected is enabled (the plugin itself) but not activated in the options of the plugin, it denies access to rest api even when no password is set and it says password protection is disabled.
This problem exists probably for any plugin using the rest api.

Same issue here. It would be great if this was updated.

    same issue
password protect plugin blocks this in only_allow_logged_in_rest_access method
