Hi Kimberly. Yep, there is an FAQ on how to roll your own Subtitles markup. I’ve gone over that here. I don’t want to blame the other plugin that you’re using, so I won’t, but my hunch is that there’s a misuse of the_title or a related function happening within one of those plugins. Which one of those social plugins do you want to use more? I could take a quick look on my machine to make sure that it’s not my plugin that’s breaking things. Thanks.

Oh Philip, that would be awesome. And I’m sure it’s the coding in the other plugins. I would prefer to use the Social Share Starter by KK — http://newinternetorder.com/giveaway-heres-why-social-share-counters-suck-plus-what-i-can-give-you-that-doesnt/

I’ve looked at the twitter and pinterest button coding so many times trying to figure out what is wrong but me and PHP don’t get a long very well as of yet. Working on that though 😀

Thanks again! I really do like your plugin! I will try a different sharing plugin in if I have to, but if you can figure it out I would be most grateful!!

    Thanks again!!!

Hi Kimberly. It looks like I need to sign up for a newsletter in order to download that plugin, which I’d rather not do. Please email me the version of the plugin that you’re using. You can contact me at philip@pressbuild.com. Thanks.

    Thanks again!!!

Hi Kimberly. I’ve taken a look at the plugin that you sent and it’s not using get_the_title correctly. Every single time that a title is used inside of an attribute, like it’s being used in this plugin, the function the_title_attribute should be used, not the_title or get_the_title, which Subtitles filters. I suggest either a) contacting the developer of the plugin to fix this mistake or b) changing all instances of get_the_title to their correct values. You can learn more about this here.

Thanks, Philip, for looking into this! I really appreciate it! I have sent an email off to the author with everything you offered up, but in the mean time I have also changed the instances to the correct value. Had to do a little tweaking but I got it work! YAY!!! You are awesome.

Whew!! Not much of a coder but I’m pretty proud of myself for fixing this!!

You, my dear friend, have a fabulous week!!!

    much thanks and appreciation!!
