I’ve checked it with WordPress 5.0.3 and everything works as usually. Sorry, but I just can not reproduce the mentioned above issue.
@mossmanpete How did you resolve this issue? I have the same problem. There are no error messages in any logs. Looks like the plugin is at fault but would love to hear what you discovered.
It’s not plugin but a user fault. When you are trying to change something in the feed settings (anything, not just the categories) in the same moment when plugin pulls the feed, the changes won’t be saved. It you want to avoid it, use server cron instead of auto mode (CyberSyn->CyberSyn->RSS pull mode). This was discussed at this forum already.

Very Fast Response– Only problem is I have tried many times to make the change and I am using server side cron. It seems odd you would fire back so quickly when I am obviously not the first to ask this “sensitive” question. So, it may not be a plugin issue as much as a programm…er issue.
So the solution you mention does not work
It’s not a “sensitive” question. It’s a question about something I can not even reproduce by myself. How can I fix something which is not broken?
See it’s a simple logic. If the code works for other people, then it (the code) is ok and (also according to the same simple logic) there is something wrong at your end. Perhaps some server misconfiguration or you are using some 3rd-party themes/plugins that can cause this issue (yes, a 3rd-party code may interfere with between each other). Maybe your site was hacked. Who knows what could it be? In any case, it’s not the plugin itself.

Re-checked it at another site and yes, I have noticed the same thing. It’s fixed in version 5.48. Please make sure to update your copy of plugin.
