• I notice when using the widget for Categories the sub-categories *do not* indent under the parent category.

IF I remove the Cagegory Widget and use the Default theme’s Cagegory coding, the Sub-Caterogies DO indent under the parent categories.

How do I fix the Widget to indext for Sub-Categories?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I’m having the same problem (no indents for sub-categories) using the Category widget in WP 2.3. It was working previously with WP 2.2. Are there any solutions, or work-arounds?

For the Category Widget, did you check the ‘Show hierarchy’ checkbox in the widget configuration?

    Widgets_SubPanel

Yes, “show hierarchy” is checked. My website is http://tinyurl.com/2ddo5c

When I go to view the source of the sidebar, it looks like the sub-categories are given the class <ul class=”children”>, while the main categories are just simply <ul >. Could it be a CSS issue? What’s strange is that there were no problems before the upgrade to 2.3

    Thanks!

What if you use the Widget with the Default Theme?

Also, there was a fix to the category widget classes in 2.3.1 so try to upgrade. (e.g. http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5079 )

OK. It’s definitely something with the theme. When I switch to a different theme that uses the Categories widget, the indents work fine. WP-Andreas09 versions 2.0 and 2.1, both do not indent the sub-categories correctly for me, but other widgetized themes do (e.g. WP-multiflex3 v1.2)

    Thanks.
