Category widget

  • Hi, I have a problem regarding my category widget. I’m using Deux Milles Douze theme and when I open any category from the widget, it either shows one post from that category with full text and not summary or it says link not found, how can I solve this issue?

    might be caused by the permalinks – http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks
    sometimes it helps just to hit the save button for the permalink settings, even without making changes.

    if you think it is a theme issue, please post in http://wordpress.org/support/theme/deux-milles-douze

    posting a live link to illustrate the problem might be useful…

    Didn’t get my answer, I have very less knowledge about all this, can you please check my blog and give me an answer clearly as to what should I do.Here’s my link http://simplyprettyandhealthy.com/

    Hi Arzoo,

    I just looked at your site and I think that there’s an issue because your category looks like it’s in a subcategory.
    The link to your category is like so:

    http://simplyprettyandhealthy.com/Sunscreen,Nature'sEssence/body-lotion/

    You can see the Sunscreen,Nature'sEssence in there. That shouldn’t be there.
    I think that you need to revisit your category. It’s best to avoid commas and apostrophes. Unless your site is only about sunscreen, I don’t see the point of having that as a category.

    Once that’s fixed the links should work.

    Ok thanks, but tell me where do I edit my category, I mean in what option. And I don’t use commas and apostrophes, when I write my post, I just simply add a new category and click on it if my post is related to that.

    what are the entries under:
    dashboard – settings – permalinks – category base

    and:
    dashboard – settings – permalinks – tag base

    Oh it’s sunscreen, nature’s Essence, what do I write there.

    My blog is related to beauty and health and most of the category is by product’s name.

    Oh it’s sunscreen, nature’s Essence, what do I write there.

    you could try to write something with just lowercase characters, separated with hyphens;

    example:
    sunscreen-natures-essence

    that’s not my blog’s content, do i still include the that example you mentioned above.

    @alchymyth

    under
    dashboard – settings – permalinks – category base

    and:
    dashboard – settings – permalinks – tag base

    you can include whatever you like, as long as it is lowercase with hyphens – no commas, no apostrophes

    I tried doing, beauty-health-products and then activated the category widget but now it’s not even opening, I select a category and it just stays there.

    @alchymyth

    you need to use different texts for the category base and the tag base;

    I could not find the categories widget in your site.

    both should be different from each other, right? I deleted it as it was not properly activated.

    thank you thank you so much, you really helped me, can’t thank you enough for this 🙂 Everything happened right 🙂

    And one more thing, can you please check whether my site is verified in google analytics or not, I did it today and it’s showing a G sign on the address bar but I’m not sure about it.
