Category Reverts back to UnCategorized

    I’m having a problem with my blog where any new post I write, not matter what category I choose it to be, is labeled as Uncategorized. I removed the Uncategorized category and changed the default category to ‘News’ so I have no idea where it is getting Uncategorized from. Old posts still link to the categories they were assigned.

    The site is hosted on network solutions. The only thing I can think of is if they upgraded their mysql, that it somehow messed up the category linking. Has there been any known bugs and fixes that anyone knows of?

    After to using phpmyadmin I found that wordpress is not writing an entry in wp_post2cats. I wrote my own entry for the post and linked it to a category and it worked.

    I reuploaded all the files in wordpress to the site but I’m still having the same issue.
