    On my blog http://www.visualrhetoric.org I use the <?php the_category() ?> to show what category each post is listed in. However, it is showing as a white box with a pink border inside of my divider. (This makes more sense if you look at my site).
    How do I get it to show up without the white background and pink border? I don’t define it in my CSS at all. I want it to look like the author and comments in this pink section. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    I see you moved where it is displayed, but in case you want to move it back where it was, you just have to fix this (or set a separate one for post-categories ul):
    ul, h6{
    margin: 0px 0px 20px;
    padding: 0px 5px;
    font-size: 10px;
    border: 1px solid #FF99CC;
    font-weight: normal;
    background-color: #FFFFFF;}
