Support » Fixing WordPress » category – problem – "Page Not Found"

  • Hey!!

I need help. I have change the permalink settings from “ugly” to custom structure, by using the plugin “Advanced Permalinks”, evetything goes very smooth but then i discover the links of the category are all broken and it showed :

page not found or Sorry, no posts matched your criteria .

but if i move the category into a sub-category then everything ok:

    category/xxxx ( not ok )

    category/general/xxxx ( ok!)

    What can I do now??

    thx!!

  • Why are you using a plugin for your permalinks?

coz the links were like p?123

n i wanna make them into %postname% without losing all the pervious linkage on the web.

You don’t need a plugin to use custom permalinks. Get rid of it and see Using_Permalinks.

anyway i have been using that plugin n no problem on other blogs. my issue is about asking how to slove the problem now. i have looked at the page Using_Permalinks many times but i m not gd at understanding them so the “Advanced Permalinks” had saved a lot of trouble for me as i already have many old posts.

if i just changed the old structure to the new one, when ppl go to my blog via google search they would see a broken link instead but now it goes fine.

i m asking abt the category issue. thx so much.
