Category Posts and Category Archive Compatibility

    I’m currently using Category Posts Widget for my news posts, which are split into 5 categories. I now realise that I wish to keep some archived for future reference and let others “disappear”, or else delete them.
    It appears that there are two archiving widgets available in WordPress: WordPress Category Archive and WordPress Custom Post Type Archive.
    Question: Are any/both of these two widgets compatible with Category Post Widget?
