# Category post order broken?

 * Hi there!
 * I have a website where I display the 5 newest posts at the bottom of the home
   page.
 * I don’t know when this broke — it was working properly a couple weeks ago — but
   for some reason it stopped listing posts in proper order.
 * I’ve just tried a few different “list all posts in a category” plugins and all
   of them seem to be doing exactly the same thing — listing the posts sorted by
   date (oldest to newest). I need them showing newest to oldest. I’ve even tried
   sorting by title, just for fun — NO GO!
 * I can’t seem to get them to display in any other order. At this point, I have
   no idea what to do.
 * Do any of you use plugins/shortcode/etc to display the last 5 posts in the content
   of a page (not using a widget)? Does it work properly? If so, which plugin do
   you use?

 * It was a plugin I was using, called “Custom Post Order” – it must have updated
   recently and started overriding all pages on the site (rather than on individual
   category pages). I unchecked “Apply to all categories” and the home page went
   back to normal.
