• I’ve got a Main Category with several subcategories. When I associate a given post with only a sub category it is still displayed when you click on the main category. Is there any way to restrict posts associated with a only a subcategory from being displayed in the main category unless both the main and sub categories are selected? Seems like this should be inherent in the code already.

    Thanks,

Not to sure how both categories could be selected at once…

Anyway, might take a look at Category Templates.

I see your confusion. Let me reword the question.

How do I keep posts associated with only a subcategory from being displayed when clicking the main category?

I think if this is possilbe then when you associate a post with a main and sub-category it will be displayed when selecting either the main or sub-category from the module.

I didn’t see a solution in the Category Templates link you provided.

Actually, that’s a quite an old mistake of the developers… I used to complain about this approx. 2 years ago – nothing ever changed 🙁

At that time somebody wrote a little plugin to help me out but I am not sure the plugin would work with this version of WP.

Then years later another plugin appeared – there are always good souls that help us out.

    (it worked with 2.1)
