Category # not showing beside the Category Link

i am very sure it has something to do with the template i am using since when i change “optioncount=0” to “optioncount=1” the number of posts *do* show but…

it shows on top of the link and to the farthest left, as if it’s on the first letter of the category name. i think it may be a CSS issue but because i am quite new to php as well as css i don’t know precisely what to change in the stylesheet [if this indeed the case] to get the # to sit to the right as it does in everyone else’s category line.

i am using the dapit hapon theme and any clues, tips or tricks would be great.
