# category navigation – shortcode

 * i had a look at the shortcode page here: [http://wpfilebase.com/documentation/shortcodes/](http://wpfilebase.com/documentation/shortcodes/)
   
   but dont seem to be able to work it out.
 * essentially, i want the same output that the “wpfilebase category list” widget
   generates (hierarchical checked) but using a shortcode instead of a widget…is
   that doable ?

 * I agree. If I look at “id=2”, I wonder where that originates (or is specified).
   In the files list, I don’t see a unique ID.

 * Hi Fabian,
 * I have Pro version and looking for this feature to be available as a template
   shortcode.
    I also need this show category tree without any files showing under
   these categories. There should be some handle to show selectable categories. 
   Also, an option if you wish to show child categories as well.
 * Please provide any workaround for this if already available.
