# Category navigation doesn’t work

 * I freshly installed WordPress through GoDaddy yesterday afternoon. I’ve called
   them this morning and they said everything on their end is perfect. But here 
   is the problem:
 * Go to [lapretty.com](http://www.lapretty.com). Click on the “Beauty + Health”
   category where there are 11 posts. Scroll down through the first 10, click on“
   older posts.” Now instead of being taken to the remaining post in that category,
   you’re taken to page two of the main index.
 * We did not upload posts, we did not use any templates that would mess this up.
   Everything is fresh and newly installed from GoDaddy.com’s installation.
 * How can this be fixed? We’d so appreciate any help!

 * So while waiting for some help, I uninstalled WordPress and then reinstalled 
   the entire thing. I did this manually rather than going through GoDaddy as I 
   thought that their installation was the problem.
 * I still have the same problem where if I try to navigate through a category, 
   page two defaults to page two of the index, rather than staying within this category.
 * Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? Is it a SQL issue?

 * look up page templates in the codex
 * wordpress uses a hierarchal system for page templates. If you do not have a specific
   category page template then it will go to the default template. Your default 
   template is what is sending items back to page two of your index. You need to
   create a template to be used when browsing in category mode and edit it so that
   it stays within the category.
 * Search the codex, it’s your friend.
