Category is not showing in Breadcrumbs

    Hello,

    After the last update few days back, The category is not showing on few posts in breadcrumbs.

    Most post are showing Home > Category > Post Name.
    However, few post are not showing category instead showing Home > Post Name.

    I checked everything. Cleared all caches. There is no error. Problem is only few post. Everything was working fine before the last update. I am using latest WP and Yoast SEO.

    I disabled and installed another plugin for breadcrumbs and everything was working fine. Uninstalled and activated Yoast Breadcrumbs again. Same problem that also with few post (not all)

    Could you please provide some URLs which highlight where the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs is working as expected, and another URL where the breadcrumbs aren’t showing the category in the path?

    Both post are from same category. In the 1st post, category is missing whereas in 2nd category is visible.

    Can you please confirm if you are getting the same result with the latest Yoast SEO 8.2? Also, can you confirm if the same issue happens even when you switch your theme to the default one like Twenty Seventeen?

    Yes, I am getting the same result with Yoast SEO 8.2. I am using Divi theme. I took the risk and switched to Twenty Seventeen theme and problem remained the same. Reverted back. This is important for me. I don’t want to use another plugin. In fact, i was looking forward to purchase premium yoast. Let me know if any other information is required. Help me to solve this issue. Thanks!

    That sounds like a plugin or theme conflict. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:

    1. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.
    2. Check for conflicts.
    3. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.

    If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

    1) I checked. Issue is only with Yoast. I disabled Yoast and Installed Breadcrumb NavXT. Everything was fine. Only Yoast Breadcrumb giving this problem.
    2) I checked. No issue.
    3) Not found any issue which is different from where breadcrumbs are showing right path.

    When i checked the source code i found the problem – Yoast Schema is creating wrong breadcrumbs.

    Where breadcrumbs showing category (https://www.studyfrenchspanish.com/blog/french-speaking-population-world/) –> {“@context”…. “@id”:”https:\/\/www.studyfrenchspanish.com\/blog\/category\/french\/”,”name”:”French”}},

    Where breadcrumbs not showing category (https://www.studyfrenchspanish.com/blog/job-opportunities-french-language-india/) –> {“@context”:……….{“@id”:””,”name”:””}},

    I have created the GitHub issue. Let’s see if my problem is solved or i am forced to change the plugin. Thanks!

    I don’t understand how my problem is resolved when no solution came in last 3 weeks? No solution on GH either. I guess, Yoast offers no solution or help for free Yoast seo plugin here. Either buy premium or change plugin.

    You have to the specify a parent category (the empty link which is in your menu) for each category you want to show.

    I had the same issue.

    Sorry, I did not get you. Each post has been assigned to a particular category. There are 6 categories and no child-category.
