# Category Interface

 * I’m slightly surprised, in a HCI way that both WordPress has the classic interface
   blooper of “Having to create a category BEFORE you attach it to a post”
 * Often, you don’t know what category something should be in until you’ve written
   it. And it’s such an easy fix… at the left-hand-side in the admin interface,
   where the category checkboxes are… simply add a text field at the bottom, so
   that you can create a category at the same time as creating a post. Simple…
   ta da!

 * Cool. So roughly when is 2.0 due… is there somewhere I can see how it’s progressing?

   That shows some of the interface (it’s the latest code as of 5 minutes ago) but
   for the given login, it doesn’t show the ‘Add Categories’ which is in the dropdown.
   It IS there though.
 * And due ? When it’s ready – I have not the slightest idea
