    I’m not sure what would cause that. Have you tried removing a category from a page and then reapplying it to see if that causes any changes throughout the process?

    Hey James – I just tried it, that didn’t make any difference. Any other ideas?

    p.s. I also tried using a replacement categories widget just to see if that would get the correct counts, and it doesn’t. and I tried creating a new category with a single page in it, and the category widget thought it was empty, though the archive page did in fact have the page. So clearly it is the core call to get the category count that isn’t working right.
