Support » Fixing WordPress » Category and archive

  • Hi there!

In my blog I use this permalink structure:
    /%category%/%postname%/

So, when you load the category archive page, you see the posts and at the bottom of the page the link to the other pages inside the same category (/page/2, page/3, and so on), all correctly working.
    The URL structure is:
    http://www.myblog.com/category/category-name/

But, if you delete “category” from this URL, you see the same category archive page, but the link at the bottom of the page to the others page, obviously, doesn’t work. That is to say:
    http://www.myblog.com/category/category-name/page/2/ <-- page exists
    http://www.myblog.com/category-name/page/2/ <-- page doesn't exists

I looked at other WP installations and if I delete “category” from the URL I see one of the posts inside that category.

Why in my WP installation, at the URL
    http://www.myblog.com/category-name/
I see that archive page? What happened?
