  • Hi @waltervds,

Could you clarify whether you’re using a block-based theme or a classic theme? Also, is this happening on the shop page or the category pages? This will help in troubleshooting the issue.

Hi, This is a classic theme (Weaver Xtreme) and it is on the shop page.

    Hi @waltervds,

I’d like to gain a better understanding of the issue, and I appreciate you clarifying the theme you have installed.

To confirm, have you deleted the old category, or does it still exist? If the category hasn’t been deleted, the issue is likely related to your theme since it controls how your site is displayed.

To be sure, you can also switch to the store front theme or the twenty twenty five theme to see if the category still shows.

In that case, I recommend reaching out to your theme’s support team for further assistance.

    Hi there!

I checked the shop page on your site, but I don’t see the Tombola category listed.

To assist you better, could you please provide more details about the categories that are empty but still appearing on your site? Also, could you share the titles of the empty categories that are still visible?

Additionally, please share a screenshot showing exactly where these categories appear on the shop page. You can use the following tool to take and share a screenshot: https://snipboard.io.

    Thank you

Indeed on one site it’s fixed (how I don’t know)
On this site https://poezencentrale.be/winkel/ however not.

    Hi there!

I’ve checked your site and noticed that the Tombola category is not appearing in the list on this page: https://poezencentrale.be/winkel/. Could you please try clearing your browser cache to see if that resolves the issue?

Currently, the category is still accessible via a direct link. If you want to prevent users from accessing an empty category, you’ll need to remove it from the dashboard.

Once the category is removed from the backend, it will no longer be accessible — even through a direct URL.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi, further analyse showed me that both customers tend to change the name of the categories frequently (e.g. “tombola” to “tombola drinkfontein”) and it seems to manifest only with that kind of categories

    Hi @waltervds,

Thank you so much for getting back to us. We truly appreciate your time and effort in trying to work through this.

At the moment, it’s been a bit challenging to fully understand the issue, as each time we follow up, a new detail surfaces while earlier questions remain unanswered. Based on the current flow of the conversation, we’ll assume the issue may have been resolved.

However, if you’re still experiencing the problem, we’re absolutely here to help. Kindly share more specific details so we can better assist you. In particular, please send a screenshot of the page where the empty category is appearing, along with the link to that exact page.

I noticed you previously shared a link to the main category page, which is expected behavior. As @shahzeenfarooq pointed out, if you’d prefer to prevent users from accessing an empty category, the best approach would be to remove that category from the admin dashboard.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding—we’re here to support you every step of the way.
