Categories problem

    Hello i face a serious problem in my site. I have updated to the newest version of wordpress, but now i am facing a problem with the categories. All the categories do not appear in the categories section in the wp-admin, but they appear in my site’s index. My site is http://www.thefreescreensavers.com. And when i tried to add a new category of the same name, i get the message: ‘A term with the name provided already exists with this parent.’, but nothing really appears in wp-admin as it shows that i have no categories! Please help. Thanks

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Go to dashboard, categories and click on screen options in the upper right corner. Enter the number of categories you want to see.
